My book is available!
Just after moving in 2019, I started thinking about what I really wanted to do here. The outcome of that thought exercise was that I was allowed to make time to write a book. I wrote, but the more than 120 pages never became a book.
The plan for the book remained, but for some reason, the book itself never materialized. Until I started writing about the Camino routes I had discovered in Braga. It became an article that was actually far too long to publish as a single article. Six routes, and meanwhile also six years after my move to Braga. That synchronicity felt like a story that could be brought into the world as a book.
The result is here now: ‘Pilgrim in Braga, about pilgrimage routes and about being a pilgrim on the Camino of our own lives. Pilgrim in Braga is a personal travel and inspiration book about how the author discovered the Camino through walking in Northern Portugal. After a difficult first pilgrimage and a period of cancer, she finds a new way of pilgrimaging: quieter, more conscious, and more personal. The book combines autobiography with historical information about 6 little-known pilgrimage routes around Braga and ends with the message that life itself is a Camino.
